The Division of Performance is responsible for developing the Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) reports, which pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. These reports also provide extensive information on staff, finances, programs, and demographics for each school and district.

From the information contained in the AEIS, the division also develops and implements the state Accountability rating system used to rate Texas public schools and school districts. the state accountability rating system includes campuses and districts rated under standard and Alternative Education Accountability (AEA) procedures.

Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA) are shown along with the accountability ratings on the state Accountability Ratings site; search for GPA by year. Further uses of the AEIS data include publication of Snapshot, Pocket Edition, and the School Report Card (school report cards may be viewed through the AEIS site).

The Division of Performance Reporting also evaluates all public school campuses, districts, and the state for Adequate yearly Progress (AYP) as required under the federal accountability provisions in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.

In addition, the Division of performance Reporting is responsible for a number of federal reports and Texas school district financial reports (See Related Sites).

The Division of Performance-Based Monitoring is responsible for developing the Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System (PBMAS) which is an automated data system that reports annually on the performance of school districts and charter schools in selected program areas (bilingual education/English as a second language, career and technical education, special education, and certain title programs under the No Child Left Behind Act).

From the data contained in the PBMAS, the division designs and maintains the annual Performance-Based Monitoring Analysis System District Report. This report includes specific data for each performance indicator n the PBMAS. the division began producing a state-level PBMAS report in 2006. A technical resource for understanding the PBMAS district and state reports is each monitoring year's corresponding PBMAS Manual.

The Division of Performance-Based Monitoring is also responsible for developing and reporting on a variety of data validation indicators, including indicators to examine leaver/dropout records, disciplinary data, and student assessment data.
