Education History

Brady High School 1994
Bachelor of Science: Angelo State University 1998
Masters of School Leadership: Sul Ross University 2005

I began my educational journey in Brady ISD as a carefree kindergartner. My educational potential was discovered immediately and by the time I reached the first grade I was in the politically correct named "less advanced" group for math. However, math would be the highlight of my day because my reading group was a very small group of students below the "less advanced" group of readers. Our group was nick named the "buzzards" while the advanced group were the "eagles". I do not remember what we called the middle group. Of course, teachers never stated anything like this, but as students, we knew.

I limped through elementary school, narrowly escaping retention on two occasions (I would have been better off retained). Through junior high and high school things smoothed out for me. I have never made straight "A"s in my life, but the days of struggling through classes were behind me.  I graduated from Brady High School somewhere in the bottom of the first quartile in a class of 99 during the year 1994.

I then enrolled in Angelo State University and I made it through with a GPA I do not care to publish for public consumption and graduated in 1998.

I started work on my Masters Degree in the Spring of 2002 at Sul Ross University. My educational focus improved tremendously by this time and I graduated with all "A"s with the exception of two "B"s because I skipped a class for a brothers wedding and another for a less honorable pursuit...but the fishing was good!  I graduated with my Masters in December of 2005.

I began working for Blackwell CISD in 2009 and this community and school has become my home.  It has been the perfect place for my wife and I to raise our three children.  We are grateful and blessed to be a part of this community.
