Fully opening school
BCISD COVID PROTOCOLS
As many are aware, basketball season is beginning and thus indoor activities are necessary. Additionally, Covid cases in Nolan County are low. After consulting with the Nolan County health department and local physicians, Blackwell CISD will be changing Covid policy effective December 1.
The district will be using the month of November and inside basketball activities to gauge if Covid is spreading or being kept at bay. If Nolan County cases remain below a threshold of 25 and there is no spread among students and/or staff, BCISD will open fully on December 1, 2021.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of parents as we continue our goal of keeping kids in school and teachers and staff on campus and teaching. Many of you have personally expressed your thanks and support for the district continuing to be vigilant against Covid. In fact, according to health officials, BCISD has had less Covid than other surrounding school districts.
As long as the Nolan County count of cases remains below 25, BCISD will remain fully open. If cases rise about 25, we will return to our beginning of the school year status until cases decrease below the 25 mark.
Please understand that the protocols enacted by TEA and posted on the district website are still in effect as the district does not have the power to change these.
