Garrett Watson
Coach | 4th–6th Grade Social Studies | 6th Grade Science

I am excited to begin my 11th year in education and feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with students and families in several great communities, including Meadow, Valley, Highland, and Rotan. I graduated from Jayton-Girard ISD and went on to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Angelo State University.

Coaching and education have always been a big part of who I am. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to coach every sport in 1A athletics except softball. Whether it is in the classroom, on the field, or in the gym, I believe in teaching students the importance of hard work, accountability, teamwork, and doing things the right way. Some of the best lessons students learn happen outside of a textbook, and I enjoy being part of those moments.

I truly enjoy working in small-school communities where teachers, coaches, students, and families all come together to support one another. I am thankful for the relationships I have built throughout my career and look forward to continuing to serve students and the community.

When I am not at school or coaching, you can usually find me on the golf course or spending time with my wife, Sarah, and our 9-month-old son, Quade. Family, faith, community, and working with kids are all things that I value greatly, and I am looking forward to another great year!
